Shamanism is the earliest spiritual practice known to mankind. It teaches us that everything in existence is alive and has a spirit, we are all connected in “the great web of life”. We are part of Mother Nature, not standing over and above it. Shamanism is a generous, loving path of caring for one another and for nature.

For many years we have been taking groups on transformative spiritual journeys and retreats into nature. This time, we have prepared a special opportunity for you to spend 14 days on magical Bali with Nagual Uchu. We will shamanically explore and sense ancient energies and wisdom of this paradise island. We have prepared a rich program for you, which will include at least 6 workshops, a satsang (spiritual gathering) and two ceremonies – a water ceremony and a fire ceremony. We will focus on feeling nature, getting to know local culture and on our inner journeys that will be supported by the strong spiritual energies of this particular place.

Nagual Uchu’s workshops and ceremonies will be integrated into the program so that they coincide with the energies of the places where we are going. Together we will connect with the ancient, primeval, telluric energies of the island and will honor it with a water ceremony (blessing of the water) and a fire ceremony and an offering (celebration of life).

Nagual Uchu does not follow a fixed program. He sees and reads the energy of the group and of the individuals and adapts the program according to the group’s best interest. Workshops are in English. Translation from English to Slovene is provided to those who might need it.

WHO IS NAGUAL UCHU

Nagual Uchu comes from Latin America. He learned and practiced shamanism mostly in Mexico, Peru and Brazil where he lived with the Indians. He was once part of Carlos Castaneda’s circle and worked closely with Merilyn Tunneshende (the nagual Woman from don Juan’s circle). He spent years travelling all around the world, living in India and among African and Siberian shamans, gaining rich experience in working with energies.

He combined and integrated ancient knowledge and techniques into Urban-Modern Shamanism which is applicable in 21st century in our everyday lives.  For more than 20 years Uchu has been teaching and coaching ancient shamanic techniques all over the world. He is currently active in Europe.

The one and the only city of Ubud is the cultural heart and soul of Bali. It became known with the book “Eat, Pray, Love” and film with the same title starred by Julia Roberts.  The name comes from the Balinese word “ubad,” which means a medicine – in the beginning the city was an important source of medicinal herbs. Bali is a place where dreams become reality. After a welcome drink and a dinner, we’ll hang out in the best company. Overnight stay.

DAY 3 – We’ll start a day with a delicious breakfast. We’ll travel through inhabited places with good local medical care and medicines available in pharmacies. We’ll sleep in nice and clean accommodations.

Indonesia is still a Third World country at the Equator and there are some food rules for us:

  • Water from the waterworks isn’t potable, bottled water is available everywhere.
  • Ice in beverages should be avoided.
  • Fruits have to be peeled before eating.

No vaccination is mandatory. You can find more information on this website: http://www.zdravinapot.si/destinacije/jugovzhodna-azija/indonezija.

Safety: Indonesia is very safe. The local people are peaceful, friendly and open to tourists.

However, be careful especially in tourist resorts and crowded places, for example in markets, where pickpockets like to take advantage of the crowd.

Money: Currency is the Indonesian rupee (IDR). 1 EUR = cca. 16.000 IDR. You will need cash for small payments. The euro can be exchanged for the Indonesian rupee at the airport, in banks and exchange offices. It’s recommended to exchange the money in official exchange offices.

Remember to save the exchange receipt until leaving the country.

Credit cards are accepted only in big shops in cities and in hotels. We still recommend you to check with your bank if your credit card can be used in Asia.

Additional costs: Indonesia is an affordable country. In comparison to Slovenia, the food is cheaper for about a half, however, the prices of alcoholic beverages are comparable to our prices.

There won’t be many additional costs, only for drinks, shopping, souvenirs or any additional activities.

Weather: We’ll travel to Bali during the winter period. However, we expect nice and warm weather, some afternoon showers are possible. We expect temperatures between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius.

Clothes: Unlike most of Indonesia, Bali is NOT a Muslim island. Nevertheless, we recommend you to wear clothes covering your shoulders, cleavage and knees (T-shirts, 3/4 trousers, skirts over the knees, light cotton clothes) when visiting temples, airports and other religious or official spaces. By respecting local culture we’ll gain respect of the locals.

Accommodation: Accommodations have been selected carefully. We’ll sleep in double rooms.

Are you traveling alone, but wouldn’t like to pay extra for a single room? Let us know when signing up that you would like to share a room with another person. If we find a roommate for you, you won’t need to pay extra for a single room.

Telephone and Internet: The dialing number from Indonesia to Slovenia is 00386 + telephone number without the first 0). The dialing number from Slovenia to Indonesia is 0062 + telephone number (without the first 0). Usually, Slovenian cell phones work properly in Indonesia. It’s cheaper to communicate via the Internet, Wi-Fi is available for free in most accommodations.

Electricity: The electrical voltage is 220 V. They have the same sockets as in Slovenia.

Tips are not mandatory, but the locals will be very happy to get some.

Is it possible to pay for the trip in several installments? Of course. This makes sense when signing up early several months before the trip.
